2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat debuts as the world’s most powerful SUV

The headlines were ” Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye, the world’s fastest sedan”. But still, something felt missing for the American Muscle car manufacturers, Dodge, then another headline runs, “2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat debuts as the world’s most powerful SUV”, and then the company takes a calm breath.

Yes, you heard it right. 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, steals the title for the world’s most powerful SUV from the champion, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Just a few days back, this teased vehicle was unveiled. At the heart of this vehicle is a 6.2L supercharged Hemi V8, that churns 710 hp and 875 Nm of torque. This launches this massive SUV from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. That’s damn fast for an SUV of this size.

The 2021 Dodge Durango gets more of these upgrades. It features upgraded suspension that is more responsive with a 20% increase in total rebound control and 18% stiffer rear damper top mounts. The company also claims reduced understeer and body roll, improving responsiveness when attacking a corner. The brakes have Brembo high-performance parts, with six-piston calipers and 400 mm rotors at the front, while the rear gets four-piston calipers and 350 mm rotors instead. Stopping from 96 km/h is said to take just 35 meters, which is quite a feat for a vehicle of this size.

The fog lamps were removed and the spacing is used for cooling the air in the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. This facelift features a new grille that mimics the look of the Charger, sleek headlight. Inside, a 10.1-inch touch screen with Uconnect 5 infotainment system for entertainment. The rest of the line-up – SXT, GT, Citadel, R/T, and SRT 392 – also sees some changes.

Safety features list includes adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic detection, forward collision warning with active braking, advanced brake assist and LaneSense lane departure warning with lane keep assist that leave the assurance to the vehicle on tough calls.
