The 2021 Tesla Model Y came with its introduction at an event at Elon Musk,s company Hawthorne design studio. It is a mid-size electric vehicle that can accommodate 7 passengers. Technically, it is a crossover that defines itself with a smaller size and less complexity than the Model X. It shall see to the compliments of the company’s Model X SUV, Model S luxury sed, and the Model 3 Sedan.
Talking of the market price and variants, we expect Tesla to introduce a total of four options for the 2021 Tesla Model Y. Three of these in the late 2020and one in 2021, probably spring. We expect the Performance model to get a price tag of $60,000. And the Dual Motor AWD variant shall ask for a price of $51,000. And both shall promise a range of 280 miles. The Long Range Model Y claims that 300 miles between charging shall start for $47,000. And in the following spring, the last and least expensive Model Y to descend the market shall be the Standard Range (230 miles) with a base price of $39,000.
Talking of the power train, it does have the same powertrain as Model 3, but with ultra-responsive and highly dynamic behavior. They claim it to go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. They have an ultra architecture design as well. The low center of gravity prevents the roll of the car. Thus, it is a primary handling feature. The Performance variant is the fastest of all, and claims 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds (this is faster than Porsche 911) and a top speed of 150 mph.
