So ran back to hereafter attending the live premiere of the Audi’s latest electric vehicle addition to the lineup, the new Audi Q4 Sportback E-Tron concept. In case you missed the premiere here’s a summary of what Audi is up to in the innovation sector.
The less than 30-min premier showed the all-new Audi E-Tron Sportback concept, and it was mesmerizing. Starting with a walkaround feel of the idea, it showed a sloping rear and hinted towards a crossover vehicle. The video’s silence might be a sarcastic approach towards a powering but silent future. The technicals specs were missing but here are some of the personal speculations from our side. The Q4 E-Tron concept has a dual-engine powertrain comprising a 202bhp, 229lb ft motor powering the rear axle, and a smaller engine powering the front wheels when traction is lost, or full power is demand. The total Engine output is put at 302bhp.
An 82 kWh battery will power the motor combination that will yield an expected range of approx 280 miles. The ability to charge at up to 125kW – resulting in an 80% charge in just half an hour can be a game-changer. It will compete against the likes of Jaguar I-Pace.
The interiors had a futuristic appeal. The slim steering wheel was sporty. The big screen on the centre looked like a work of art as it merged into the dash. The LED lighting on the dash was also attractive. We can see the vehicle in the market by 2021.
