The coveted car of the year award has seen the maiden electronic SUV car of Audi at the finals. The Audi’s E-Tron SUV car has made it to the finals of the 2020 car of the year award for its concreteness but with one major flaw.
The Audi E-Tron is undisputed the car of the future of interior, clever regenerative braking system, and good looks, whereas, it is not free from some shortcomings such as its jittery ride, plain heaviness, as well as minimum range as compared to 2013 Tesla.
Though there arose some petty rivalries over the consumers’ driving experience and purchasing priorities of the E-Tron, the greatest concern was laid on its inefficiency. Thus, in terms of its range or consumption of energy, the E-Tron bears the lowest compared to the already existing Electronic vehicles on sale in the market and hence, a great challenge for the award.
Despite the above major flaw, the Audi E-Tron vehicle won stunning remarks from the SUVOTY judges. Pridle said, its gearshift design is a solution to an age-old problem: you “rest your hand on the pad and toggle forward for reverse, back for a drive.” In one accord, the judges appreciated the interior design and its entertaining infotainment system, climate controls and the widescreen displays for the instruments.
The features editor of Audi, Christian Seabaugh alluded to the fact that “the powertrain is responsive and impossibly smooth, and the E-Tron has some of the nicest steerings I’ve experienced in an Audi” for which the guest judge Johan De Nysschen also corresponded that, “it’s evident that the Audi has been well set up to take into account the mass of the batteries. Its carries a lot of momentum in the comers, but the low centre of gravity assists and ultimate grip is high.”
More to that, the judges in oneness got overwhelmed with the regenerative braking system approach of Audi.
