Auto Expo 2020: Skoda to launch the Superb by April 2020

Skoda will bring it back if there is sufficient demand for it, and also has adopted a wait and watch policy for the diesel engine of the Superb. For now, it will be a petrol-only version

The Superb features subtle design upgrades.

It gets LED Matrix headlights and LED fog lamps.

There is a 360-degree camera to get improved visibility of the environment.

Expect it to get a slight bump in price due to it being BS6 compliant.

We expect Skoda to launch it by April 2020.

As a part of its India 2.0 plan, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has been Showcasing a lot of automobiles and SUVs . But this car is not so new. It’s something we are familiar with well, albeit with a few omissions and some minor upgrades. It is a Superb facelift.

That one change, or instead First thing, is the omission of The diesel engine. Skoda has chosen to not present the Superb’s 2.0-litre diesel engine in the BS6 era. The carmaker has chosen to adopt a wait and watch policy. Therefore, if you want a diesel engine at the Superb, make some noise and allow Skoda to understand.

What you get is a TSI motor Which Makes 192PS and 320Nm of torque. This engine is being offered by Skoda with a 7-speed DSG which we don’t think anybody will complain of. With all the facelifted Superb, there will not be some manual transmission choice unlike before.

The Superb’s design has been tweaked to give it a refreshed exterior. The headlamps are very the and sleeker . The air dam in the front, therefore, is rather sleek, and today features the fog lamps and a honeycomb pattern has been comprehensively redesigned. It’s been given new metal wheels too to differentiate it.

Things are not so different at the rear with Skoda choosing to retain Boot and bumper design, The lamps. It will get a badge that is redesigned, together with’SKODA’ spelled out throughout the boot lid.

On the front, the Superb now gets MATRIX LED headlamps Fog lamps along with a 360-degree camera and joined tech. It continues to be provided with lighting, park help, and a sunroof.

We expect Skoda to launch the Superb by April 2020. Currently, The petrol Superb retails between Rs 23.99 lakh and Rs 30.99 lakh (ex-showroom India) and we expect these costs to go up due to this Superb facelift being BS6 there as well as compliant will not be any manual on offer.
