BMW iX3 Has Finally Been Unveiled, Will Deliver a 286 Miles Range

Right after the iconic Ford Bronco got out of the coffin in the newest shape, a BMW electric SUV, took birth right beside it. It’s none another than the teased BMW iX3. The SUV has been unveiled to the world and retains the same sassy look as we first sighted her in April 2018.

The 2021 BMW iX3 is nearly a carbon copy of the Beijing show car, the chubby bod with the aero wheels that are claimed to reduce the drag by straight fiver percent. The sleek wheels contribute to the electric SUV’s relatively low drag coefficient of 0.29, which was also achieved by installing a largely closed kidney grille and underbody to reduce wind resistance. However, the iX3 closely resembles the X3 based compact crossover sibling.

The 2021 BMW iX3 will get its juice from a single motor that will only send power to the rear wheels. This will produce 82 horsepower (210 kilowatts) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque to enable a 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in 6.8 seconds. A big 80 kWh battery will power the motor, which will support the all-electric crossover until a 286 miles range. Also, an electronic limitation on speed will limit you from taking the iX3 over 112 mph speed.

Once the battery gets empty, a 150 kW charging point can fill the BMW crossover from 0 to 80 percent in precisely 34 minutes. BMW loves math. Hence it has already calculated that 10 minutes of charging translates to 62 miles (100 kilometers) of range based on the WLTP regime.
