BMW M45e to be a plug-in hybrid???

We heard the BMW Blog whispering and wanted to share the news with you. The upcoming BMW X8 M45e is predicted to be a plug-in hybrid. X8 will sit back for 2022 and will be more than just luxury.

Like all the non-front-wheel-drive BMW vehicles, the X8 will be produced in South Carolina on the same lines as the X3, X4, X5, X6, and X7. The sources hint at BMW offering three models of X8. One of those models will be the mild-hybrid X8. The crossover SUV will share the same powertrain as the recently unveiled BMW 745e.

We don’t much about the upcoming X8. But the fine design of the X7 will not be retained for the new X8 hybrid. We just know a unique body style and not a coupe-like design that you’d expect to see from even-numbered X models will be penned down for the Bavarian crossover. Alos the hype of X8 to be an unexpected luxury. X8 might be more expensive than the X7 and the priciest one among the lineup.

BMW’s 745e was powered by a 3-liter six-cylinder engine good for 286 HP under the hood. It was assisted by an electric motor, with 113 HP and up to 265 Nm of torque, to be found integrated inside the 8-speed gearbox.

With these configurations in mind, will X8 M45e have a more powerful engine or electric motor?
