We announced earlier this week that it looks like the G05 BMW X5 xDrive45e is making the way to Malaysia. Along with promotional ads making social media for it already used. The proposed reveal for the SUV will likely be in late April or early May, according to one article.

With the movement control order (MCO) of the government in place, and quite likely expected to extend (we’ll know later today), we’ve heard that the car’s launch date set to postponed to May or June sometime. We have also heard from sources what the preliminary price is for the electric plug-in version.

Features:

The projected price range for the fourth-gen X5 hybrid said to be in the RM470,000 area, which will substantially lower the entry point to X5 ownership, as the sole variant currently on sale is the X5 xDrive40i M Sport, and that goes for RM618,800.

Nevertheless, this will be an upgrade from the previous-gen edition F15 xDrive40e. Which last year was priced at RM390,800 in its run-out M Quality Version. This was similar to the M Sport model.

You get quite a performance upgrade with the increased price demand. A straight-six B58 3.0 liters replaces the previously seen N20 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and 286 PS from 5,000 to 6,000 pm and 450 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 3,500 pm on the latest mill boosts output by 41 PS and 100 Nm over 2,0 liters, even from the machine itself.

Sandwiched between it and a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission is an electric motor that keeps churning out 113 PS. But increases the maximum torque to 265 Nm (from 250 Nm earlier). All in all, BMW reports a combined performance of 394 hp and 600 Nm, decent enough to drive the SUV from standstill to 100 km / h in 5.6 seconds on the way to a top whack of 235 km / h, quicker than the 6.8 seconds and 210 km / h pre-gen.
