Godzilla vs. Kong has been pushed out of its November 20, 2020 launch date and will now arrive at theaters on May 21, 2021 (through The Hollywood Reporter). This is not the first time that the MonsterVerse feature has been given the ol’ release date switcheroo. Originally, Godzilla vs. Kong was scheduled for March 13, 2020, and was then bumped to November 2020. As their fantastic duel makes its way to theaters rather than reap the benefits of a holiday box office hurry, both titular titans can help open the Summer 2021 moviegoing year. Not a bad thing to do, if you ask me.
This week, Warner Bros. announced launch date changes for a variety of its upcoming notable films, such as Godzilla vs. Kong. This year the battle of titans will no longer release on November 20. May 21, 2021, the MonsterVerse movie is now releasing. Adam Wingard (via Legendary) shared with a message on this from his Instagram, acknowledging the wait to”see who will emerge victoriously.” Check out the post below.
This is not the first time a May release date a MonsterVerse Godzilla film has obtained. Godzilla: King of the Monsters published May 31 last year, also Godzilla 2014 published May 16. The film of 2019 did under-perform at the box office. But, Godzilla vs. Kong is a huge crossover film. Should the movie receive high critic reviews, it should be a smash hit in the summer season.
Although it is unsatisfactory Godzilla won’t be rumbling with Kong in five months, November has turned into a busy month using Black Widow and No Time To Die. According to Wingard’s most up-to-date post, in addition to past remarks, Godzilla vs. Kong sounds like it’ll be worth the wait. Also, Eiza Gonzalez, who stars in the movie, said in March she thinks fans will probably be”very delighted ” together with the film. Fans did need to wait five years involving Godzilla 2014 and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, so this won’t be quite so long. Together with Godzilla vs. Kong currently releasing in 11 months, however, it’s even harder to forecast when the trailer could premiere.
