Know Latest Update When will Suzuki Jimney come to India?

The new Suzuki Jimny is a cute, retro-themed SUV that is not just an excellent off-road, but ideal to drive as a city car, especially with the notorious stop-and-go traffic. But before we get carried away on a nostalgia trip, let’s talk about the new Jimny, because this is 2020.

    Engine and its performance:

The standard version of the mini 4×4 SUV will be powered by a 0.66-liter turbocharged, 3-cylinder petrol engine, while the Jimny Sierra will get a 1.5-liter, naturally-aspirated 3-cylinder petrol motor that churns out 100 bhp. Both engines are paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. The new Suzuki Jimny will be offered with Suzuki’s Allgrip Pro 4×4 system for improved off-road capabilities.

The company is expected to fit disc brakes to the front wheels while assembling the rear ones’ drum brakes. Jimny’s top models might be offered with additional safety features like ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, hill start assist, etc.

    Interior and Cargo Space:

The 5-door Jimny will likely measure less than four meters in length. The Jimny interior is an all-black affair, but it does get some creature comforts such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, auto climate control, and six airbags for safety.

The center aircon vents are like those seen in the Ignis, while the automatic climate control is carried over from the new Swift. Other features include keyless entry, engine start-stop button, automatic headlamps, which will be offered in the top-spec models.

The new Jimny measures 3,300 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,715 mm in height, while the wheelbase is 2,250 mm.

Which SUVs will the Jimny rival?

The Suzuki Jimny won’t have a like-for-like rival in India. Hardier and more capable than the current crop of monocoque-bodied compact SUVs, the Jimny is also likely to trail the lot in comfort and driving manners.

The publisher’s sources say that Maruti Suzuki is looking at launching the Jimny’s 5-door version in our country by 2021.

The new-gen Suzuki Jimny will be offered in both single-tone and dual-tone color options. The color choices include Jungle Green, Medium Gray, Blue Black Pearl, Silky Silver Metallic, Spare White, Pure White Pearl, Kinetic Yellow (dual tone), Chiffon Ivory (dual tone), Blyisque Blue Metallic (dual tone).

Complimentary roadside assist for the same period is also included. It’s priced at $25,990 plus on-roads.
