Lexus Tokyo Concept: Focuses on Electrified Concept.

Lexus is the luxury vehicle division owned by the Japanese automaker Toyota. The Lexus brand is marketed in more than 70 countries and is one of the largest-selling make of premium cars in Japan.

It has ranked among the 10 largest Japanese global brands in market value. Lexus is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan including Operational centres at Brussels, Belgium and the U.S. in Plano, Texas.

The history of Lexus originated from a corporate project to develop a new premium sedan, code named as F1, which began in 1983 and terminated as in the launch of the Lexus LS in 1989. Subsequently, the Lexus division added sedan, coupé, convertible and SUV models in it’s fleet.

In 2005, a hybrid version of the RX crossover debuted and additional hybrid models later joined the division’s lineup. Lexus launched its own F marque performance division in 2007 with the debut of the IS F sport sedan, followed by the LFA supercar in 2009.

This Tokyo based company Lexus is boasting it’s widest range of hybrid vehicles among the other luxury brands, revealed an electric vehicle concept that pinpoints where Toyota Motor Corp.’s luxury line what the brand wants to achieve with design for electric and autonomous vehicles.

The new fanciful concept by Lexus takes a clean environmental friendly approach to Electric Vehicle design and the brand plans to unveil it’s first EV for sale this year.

Lexus hasn’t revealed much of the details about the product, but according to sources, either the company is planning to launch a new EV or a newly build hybrid vehicle for it’s  launch platform.

Early in the coming decade, Lexus said, it will introduce its first plug-in hybrid as well as a dedicated platform for EVs.

The concept’s cockpit design was inspired by the idea of tazuna, the Japanese word for “rein,” with controls that the driver relates to like a rider on a horse.

Gesture control, augmented reality and controls mounted on the steering wheel are intended to keep eyes on the road while manipulating are some of the various functions provided in the model by the automaker. The claim to have future surprises as well for the upcoming years as well.
