Lucifer Season 5 Release Date, Cast, Plot And Latest Information Is Here

It has been a wild ride for fans of the devilish authorities procedural Lucifer, based on the DC Comics character created by Neil Gaiman. The series had been canceled after the titular fallen angel spent three seasons charming the pants off us on the show network, Fox. Thankfully, Netflix immediately scooped up it. Following some uncertainty about Lucifer’s long run, the streaming giant announced that the show would be returning for a fifth and final season.

This was excellent news, as season 4 was a wild ride that ended with some pretty extreme advancements. We had been introduced to Lucifer’s (Tom Ellis) old flame, Eve (Inbar Lavi), we saw the kidnapping of this half-angel baby, Charlie, and what was set off with Lucifer descending to Hell to protect against an ancient prophecy regarding wicked taking on the Earth from coming true. It was a lot for viewers and the characters to the procedure and we will find a season to wrap up everything.

As for when we could expect to see season 5, who is confirmed to return, and in which the story will go, we have lots of facts to sift through while we wait for the premiere. Let us get into what we understand about Lucifer season 5.

When is Lucifer Season 5 Dropping on Netflix?

In the time of this writing, Netflix hasn’t announced a launch date. We do, however, have some clues about the creation which may help us make some guesses.

On September 5th, 2019, the Netflix-affiliated Twitter account Watch What has Next tweeted a photograph of the cast with the caption,”#Lucifer Season 5 starts filming tomorrow!! Can’t wait” Another production upgrade came in February 2020, when showrunner Ildy Modrovich took to Twitter to announce: “Last day in [the Lucifer author’s ] room. They’ll always be my family.”

All of this good news came before filming was stopped, combined with many other TV and film productions, due to this COVID-19 pandemic. While the delay might be discouraging for fans, we do know that filming was well underway before production went on hiatus, which the authors are crafting this season. But when things get up and running, it will result in some episodes being seen by us earlier than later.

1 last thing to consider is that, even before the creation hiatus, Netflix announced plans to split the final season into two halves, airing two collections of eight episodes with a rest in between (through TVLine). Based on how far production was before it closed down, this may mean we get new episodes even sooner than we anticipate, as they won’t need to finish before releasing new stuff producing the entire season. Without any official statement, however, all we can do now is speculate. Our very best guess is that we will be waiting in 2021, for Lucifer season 5 to premiere.

The Actors Who Are Returning to, and joining, Season 5 of Lucifer

There has not been a deficit of news for the fifth season of Lucifer. Based on the members of the cast featured from the tweet announcing the beginning of filming, we may say that series regulars such as Aimee Garcia, Lauren German, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris, Kevin Alejandro, and Tom Ellis are coming back.

In February 2020, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Inbar Lavi will be returning to play Eve in the last season. Another fascinating coming player was confirmed shortly after filming started in 2019: Tricia Helfer, who played Charlotte back in season two, will be coming back to the show, although there’s some speculation about whether she will be reprising her role or emerging in another one, entirely (through TVLine).

We have also learned about some new additions to the cast. In a series of tweets, the Netflix news origin What’s on Netflix announced that Matthew Bohrer, Erin Cummings, Brianne Davis, Catherine Dent, and Chaley Rose will appear in the new year. Popstar Debbie Gibson is also appearing in an announced musical event (through Entertainment Weekly).

There’s just one last important bit of casting news to get to. According to Entertainment Weekly, the season will feature 24 alum Dennis Haysbert as none other than God not a function for its veteran TV celebrity!

Lucifer season 5 Plot

Season 4 ended with a massive change for the series. As the ruler of Hell, Lucifer accepted his role after several season on Earth, descending into the underworld to sit on his throne. What does this mean for season 5?

Ildy Modrovich and showrunners Joe Henderson spoke about season 5, and they did tease the final season will be going for broke while they did not give any specifics. Henderson said they had invented multiple”awesome” ways to attract Lucifer back from Hell. Meanwhile, Modrovich described the ethos of how they had been approaching season 5, saying, “If everybody is speculating on one thing, we just try to believe as bats *** because we could, as out of the box as possible, so that people don’t get bored, so we don’t get bored

One direction the series will be going in its season is the addition of motif episodes. Entertainment Tonight and Entertainment Weekly affirmed that there’ll be a 1940s episode, as well as a full-on musical episode. How these particular digressions in the series’ setting that is modern will come about has not yet been announced.

Lucifer Season 5 Spoiler

Appropriate spoilers have been few and far between, although we have been getting some kernels of advice about what to expect from the story of season 5. There has, however, been some speculation that might give fans who are anxious to understand the last season will unfold something to chew on.

On May 20th, a concept was reported by Digital Spy based on a group photograph tweeted by showrunner Joe Henderson. The photo comprises series leads Lauren and Tom Ellis German lying on the grass in a garden. Given how idyllic the atmosphere appears, writer, Joe Anderton surmised that the scene was intended to be placed in the Garden of Eden, meaning this show’s season will be bringing its characters to the realm.

Another piece of spoiler chatter for Lucifer’s last season is the fact that it might not be the final season, after all. Although the original statement came with the caveat that season 5 could be the show’s last, rumors swirled that Tom Ellis was planning to sign a contract to go back to the series for a sixth time (through TVLine). The last we’ve discovered is that the contract talks between Ellis and Warner have stalled, but the system remains committed for the actor to signal (through TVLine). As of this moment, we’re still treating season 5 because the show’s finale, however, does not be shocked when we are back next year speculating about what’s in store for Lucifer season 6.
