Next-gen Nissan Z Sports Car to feature Retro-inspired design and 400 HP, Could Be Called 400Z

Nissan is reportedly hard at work on the next-generation of its own mythical Z automobile (although the firm won’t explicitly affirm ), and we are hearing it will have a comfortable appearance. Sources who have seen the sports car at seller meetings told us it’ll feature layout. “They are going back into the origins of the automobile,” one source explained.

The shape is very similar to the present Z, but the design is new. The end mimics that of a 240Z with headlights and a square mouth. Its back taillights are supposed to stick to that of the 300ZX from the 1990s.

On the interior, Nissan is going to transfer the Z. Now, the 370Z does have an infotainment system, Nissan has a storage cubby where you may expect a display. The Z will find an inside layout very similar to Nissans such as the Altima and Sentra. It is going to find an infotainment system.

From a powertrain standpoint, we told that a variant of this 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 from the Infiniti Q50/Q60 400 Red Sport will be pulled for duty. This engine is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission only right now, but we told a manual transmission will be offered next to the automatic. As a reminder, Nissan did pair the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with a manual in a 370Z SEMA show car before, but it still has not seen a manufacturing application.

As for a potential Nismo version later on, among our sources also tells us it’s very likely that we’ll see this version join the next-generation Z car eventually. Close to 500 horsepower is rumored for this flavor of Z.

The 370Z that is still an entertaining car to drive is fairly long in the tooth at this point. It’s been on sale since 2009, and it is hard to tell the difference between a few of a brand-new and those versions 2020 370Z. That’s when you know it’s time for a change. IHS Markit principal analyst, Stephanie Brinley, believes Nissan should move along, also.

“It is getting old. I believe some leadership within the next couple of years would be good. I think that it’ll get to the stage that safety compliance issues will need to be addressed,” Brinley told us.

As for the design of the new automobile, which may be called the 400Z, indicating a possible growth to 4.0 liters of displacement because of its V-6–executives remain coy. The layout is close to being completed but hasn’t yet been locked in, Espinosa said. Nissan must be careful to stay true to the Z’s heritage, that has been adopted by 1.5 million buyers, even as it ushers in a new era of design. Nissan enjoys and recognizes the fire and excitement that has led to many Z clubs and associates who are anxiously anticipating the sports car’s renewal.

There’s no hard date for a show at this point, but it’s rumored to be a year and a half to 2 years outside still. Nissan has provided us a loyal no comment on everything, but that’s usual for things in this way. We were told that Nissan has plans to introduce 12 new products. There is a chance but we wouldn’t overlook it if a low-profit sports car were postponed. As it gets nearer to a final reveal, we will be on the hunt for spy photographs and every scrap of detail we can discover on the next-gen Z. It will be an exciting road, as this sports car is essential to the automaker’s lineup.
