Okinawa, set in New Delhi has announced the start of production of Oki100, its first electric motorcycle. The EV maker has added that except for the battery pack, all the components of the 2-wheeler will be manufactured in India itself.
The Oki100 has first showcased in the Auto Expo of 2018. Oki100 has a very light chassis and the top range claimed by the company is 100km/h. The lithium-ion battery base will make it a reliable bike.
Jeetender Sharma- MD, Okinawa said, “Currently, Okinawa offers maximum localization of electric vehicles, which is 88 percent. With our upcoming electric bike, we are taking the localization level up to 100 percent. All the components of the electric motorcycle will be manufactured and sourced from local suppliers. We expect this to boost local suppliers’ domain and inspire all the EV startups to go ‘Vocal for local.”
This new launch can stronger India’s game. Though we lack infrastructure, our development segment is strong and faster than many other countries. Oki100 is a great future coming bikes and its electric base and its top speed of 100km/h will make it stand out. The bike has a strongly sporty look and every feature to make it a comfortable ride.
