Let’s celebrate 50 years of rule of most acclaimed SUV of all time, the Range Rover. And here’s a 50th-anniversary edition by Land Rover to commemorate the big day.
Juen 17,1970 started a luxury SUV segment, that conquered lands and was exceptionally luxurious. To celebrate the birth of Range Rover, Land Rover will build and offer, 1970 units of the 50th-anniversary edition of Range Rover. Going on sale, later this year, the specification remains hidden. But all the units will be based on top-end Autobiography trim level.
Range Rover has climbed all the peaks, metaphorically. Range Rover was the world’s first SUV with a permanent 4WD system upon launch. In 1982, it became the first 4×4 to be fitted with ABS. In 1992, Range Rover the world’s first 4×4 to be fitted with electronic traction control (ETC) and automatic electronic air suspension. And the latest record broke when in 2012, Range Rover became the world’s first SUV to feature all-aluminum lightweight construction, making it lighter, stronger, and more efficient.
What’s different in the Fifty edition?
Range Rover Fifty will be decorated with unique 22-inch bespoke wheels. The interior will have several “Fifty” badges created personally by Prof Gerry McGovern OBE, Land Rover’s Chief Creative Officer. This will stick on to the exterior of the vehicle and throughout the interior on the unique “1 of 1970” centre console commissioning plaque, headrests, dashboard and illuminated treadplates.
Range Rover Fifty will have you choose from Carpathian Grey, Rosello Red, Aruba, and Santorini Black. If you are one of the extremely lucky, you can choose from extremely rare color range options from the original Range Rover paint palette; Tuscan Blue, Bahama Gold and Davos White.
As per the engine specification is to be considered, as mentioned above, it still remains suspense. But a petrol and a diesel variant might be followed by a hybrid powertrain(plug-in hybrid).
