‘The OA’ is a mysterious science fiction fantasy based web drama television series. It has an American origin and has a variety of supernatural elements to attract a good number of viewers. This series is meant to be the third collaboration of Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. They have worked together to create and execute both the series.
PREVIOUS SEASON’S REVIEW:
The OA series was very successful in attracting a record of viewership on Netflix. It has two seasons under the Netflix productions. The first season premiered in December 2016. And the other season premiered in March 2019. The show producers introduced this show in a rather confusion and lack of planning.
SEASON 3 CANCELLATIONS:
Season 3 is expected to get canceled as mentioned by the Netflix productions. The confusion in the series and the lack of clear planning have made the productions think about canceling the production of Season 3.
REASON BEHIND CANCELLATIONS:
The OA was a show which was converted into a series to express a different point of view. The producers had planned to make five seasons out of this. But due to an unclear finishing and disappointing end of the previous season, the show makers decided to end the series.
SEASON 3 MIGHT BE THE LAST:
The sources also say that even if there is another season produced, that would be considered as the last. This is because the productions are no more interested to continue the series.
REACTION OF THE ACTORS:
Brit Marling, the main actor of the OA, said ‘Zal and I are deeply sad not to finish this story’ and share her emotions with the public in regards to the cancellation of the season.
She also writes “When the first time I heard the news, I had a good cry. So did one of our executives at Netflix who has been with us since the early days when we were sketching out Hap’s basement on the floor of our production office in Queens. It’s been an intense journey who worked on and cared about this story.”
