Yamaha XSR 155: The New Line-Up Sporting A Rich Heritage Of Yamaha

Yamaha corporation is a Japanese multinational corporation, providing a wide range of products and various other services. It is one of the largest piano manufacturer. The former motorcycle division was established in 1955 as Yamaha Motor corporation limited, which started initially as an affiliated company but later became independent.

Yamaha has finally unveiled it’s much anticipated XSR 155 as it’s retro looking motorcycle line-up. XSR 155 comes in naked body frame with new and improved chassis strength. The new model is power-packed by the similar engine used in R15’s model which is capable of producing a maximum power of 19.3 Hp at 10,000 RPM and torque of 14.7 Nm at 8500 rpm.

The engine is a single cylinder engine, with electronic fuel injection system and a liquid cooling technology. The ignition features a transistor controller ignition. The numerical value of bore is 58mm and a stroke value of 58.7mm. Wet sump lubrication is give in the engine which provides a smooth engine cycle.

The engine is mated to 6 gear manual transmission capable of producing speed and torque profile at different gear ranges. The new model houses 10 litre fuel tank, capable of achieving a top speed of 135 Kmph. The bike comes only in petrol variant only and the mileage of the bike is estimated to be about 40-45 kmpl.

The new model houses an advanced 2-channel Anti-lock braking system with both single disc brakes on both the sides. The tyres provided by the company are initially tubeless with new stylish alloy wheels.

The XSR 155 comes with a USD Forks front suspensions and mono-shocker suspension at the rear wheel. The kerb weight of the bike is about 134 kg. The new improvised instrument console features an all digital system including speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge and also a new feature of gear indicator. The model houses wet type Multi-plate Assist and a slipper clutch.

The model is rumoured to be available in different colour variants including premium Grey, White-red, Green and finally black. Yamaha’s XSR 155 is expected to launch by the end of this year or at Auto Expo in February 2020 with a rumoured price tag of 1.50 lakhs (Ex. showroom price).
