2020 Nissan Maxima: Know Latest Update That’s New for 2020?

The 2020 Nissan Maxima car model is a stylish and somewhat athletic offering in what is otherwise a rather dull segment. It is a more modern design underneath its sleek, four-door-coupe body. If you walk around back, you’ll see that it’s a mid-size sedan.

What’s new for 2020:

  • Safety Shield 360 package is now standard
  • Ride and handling updates for all trims
  • Midlevel SR trim gets a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree camera
  • Part of the eighth Maxima generation introduced for 2015

Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • Well-made and attractive cabin
  • Tech controls are easy to use
  • Sharp handling for a mid-size sedan

Cons:

  • Dull handling
  • Mixed interior quality
  • Short on headroom
  • Small trunk for the class

Engine:

The Nissan Maxima comes standard with a 3.5-litre V6 engine that produces 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque. The continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive are standard. The Maxima gets an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the class.

This Nissan has ample engine power that helps deliver strong acceleration both from a stop and at higher speeds. When it comes to the transmission’s performance, critics are mixed, so you’ll want to test it out before you buy it.

Interior and Cargo space:

The Nissan Maxima car model seats 5 people on standard cloth upholstery. An eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are also standard.

Standard features in the 2020 Maxima include dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, and proximity keyless entry. Also standard are an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system, an eight-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, voice recognition, two USB ports, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Nissan’s infotainment system is pretty straightforward and easy to use, with extensive on-screen icons and a rotary knob on the centre console.

Driver assistance features include automatic high-beam headlights, a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and driver attention monitoring.

The Nissan Maxima car model has 14.3 cubic feet of trunk space, which is one of the lowest values in the large car class. However, the trunk opening is full, and the rear seats fold nearly flat.

Review and Price:

It was brought up that Nissan would be discontinuing the Maxima model in 2023.

The 2020 Nissan Maxima starts at $34,250, which is one of the highest base prices in the large car class. Some higher trims retail for around $41,500.
