2020 Yamaha FZ 25, FZS 25 Launch Set

Yamaha unveiled the BS6 FZ 25 a few months ago, and a new model variant, the FZS 25. The maker announced in its original announcement that the bike would go on sale in April 2020. But that could not be due to the outbreak of COVID-19. So, Yamaha has now revamped its social media handles and website with an image that shows that the bike’s launch is imminent.

The illustrations further show that gasoline will now pump into the motorcycle and that it will continue to feature dual-channel ABS. Earlier, peak performance figures for the revised BS6 engine reported as 20.8hp at 8,000rpm and torque 20.1Nm at 6,000rpm. The BS4 bike made almost similar numbers for comparison-20.9hp/20Nm at the same points in the rev range. We have also advised that at 153 kg (curb weight), the bike now weighs 1 kg more.

Features:

The rest of the bike remains largely unchanged but with a few new color options, Yamaha offers it. The FZ 25 will be available in the Metallic Black and Racing Blue colors. While the FZS 25 will be available in the Dark Cyan, Dark Matte Gray and Metallic White paint schemes. The first two of which feature gold-colored alloy wheels.

Yamaha has also introduced a new side-stand-down engine barrier, a revised instrument panel, belly plate, and headlight – which we hope will provide improved performance than the one on the outgoing FZ 25. However, the FZS 25 also gets knuckle guards.

Yamaha has introduced a new side-stand-down engine regulator, an instrument panel revamped, a belly pan and a headlight.

The BS4-spec FZ 25 was priced at Rs 1.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), but we expect that the updated model for 2020 will cost a little more. Don’t surprised if the price as much as Rs 10,000 goes up. Meanwhile, the BS4 FZS 25 would cost much more than the FZ 25 in 2020. The difference between the FZ and FZ-S 150cc is Rs 3,500, for comparison.
