2021 Skoda Octavia RS iV Final Teaser Video

Skoda states that it’s Octavia RS plug-in hybrid will equal the performance of VW’s Golf GTE and the Cupra Leon PHEV SEAT.

It was only yesterday that our spies captured a nearly nude version of the Octavia RS on camera. Now Skoda wants us to try and get excited about the Geneva car’s unveiling next week through a final teaser video. The Rally Sport version of the company’s bestselling car used in the first-ever “iV” series. So, reflecting both the liftback and the wagon.

The Skoda Octavia RS iV will pair a 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor. So, they use the same equipment kit as the recently unveiled VW Golf GTE and the Cupra Leon PHEV.

The hybrid plug-in system will provide Mladá Boleslav’s production engine. With a total output of 242 horsepower and a sufficient torque of 400 Newton-meters (295 pound-feet).

While it’s Wolfsburg and Martorell cousins will fly for up to 60 kilometers (37 miles) without sipping any fuel.

The Octavia RS iV will have a slightly shorter, 55 kilometer (34 miles) electric range approved by WLTP. Skoda doesn’t explain why, but it presumably has to do with the higher weight of the car, because the Octavia is heavier than the Golf and Leon. These three hot hybrids are just going to be a DSG thing.

The RS iV will not be the only Octavia on display at the Geneva Motor Show. Skoda also features a lesser hybrid plug-in variant with the same 1.4 TSI and electric motor.

But with output dialed down to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) and 201 hp. In fact, for those who don’t really need an all-wheel drive. The Kamiq Scoutline will make its public debut as a rugged-looking version of the little crossover.

The New Range Of Octavia RS:

The Octavia RS range will be diversified later this year by adding conventionally powered models with the familiar 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines It remains to be seen whether the all-wheel-drive diesel will again be offered.
