Demand for electric cars in India is increasing rapidly due to the rising prices of petrol and diesel. Seeing the same interest from customers, vehicle manufacturer MG Motor has announced the launch of its new upgraded mid-size SUV MG ZS EV in India. The company has officially announced on Friday that it will launch the MG ZS EV in the Indian market on 8 February 2021. The company has not yet provided any information about the new MG ZS Electric. But it is believed that the new version of MG ZS EV can be changed in the interior and exterior features of the car.
Before that, MG Motor has launched its first electric SUV MG ZS in the Indian market. Some time ago the company president and managing director Rajiv Chhaba had said that the battery fitted in this car model will be manufactured in India so that the price of the car model can be kept to a minimum.
These new features can be in the new MG ZS
The new 2021 MG ZS Electric may feature an emergency braking system. This feature has previously been seen in MG’s Gloster SUV. The SUV may also get ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with features such as blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control. The new ZS EV is expected to offer a larger battery pack, offering a range of over 400km on a single charge.
Features of existing MG ZS EV
The MG ZS electric car was launched in early 2020. Currently, the MG ZS EV is the only electric car in India that can be charged up to 80 percent in just 50 minutes with the help of a fast charger. Last year, the company sold a total of 1,142 units of this SUV. In the current MG ZS EV SUV, the company has used a 44.5kWh capacity lithium-ion battery pack. The electric motor given in it generates a power of 143 PS and torque of 353 Nm. The company claims that this electric car offers a driving range of up to 340 kilometers in a single charge.
