Nissan India has announced that it will bring three new cars by 2027. In essence, the motive of the move is to enhance the visibility of the brand in the Indian market. The new models will be an updated Magnite, new Gravite MPV, Tekton SUV and seven-seat SUV.
Essentially, these launches are also accompanied by an expansion in the number of dealerships and employees in Nissan. The plan explains how Nissan is determined to reinforce its operations in India within the next two years.
Updated Nissan Magnite and Gravite MPV Launch
The product expansion will start with the MY2026 Nissan Magnite. The updated Magnite will feature minor changes in specifications and features. The compact SUV will not have any significant design or mechanical modifications. This model will be competing with Renault Kiger and Maruti Fronx in the segment. It is hoped that the new Magnite will be in showrooms long before the Gravite gets there in March 2026.
The Gravite is the next compact MPV by Nissan in India. The model will target the family market and will be based on space and comfort. It will mark the first all new model by Nissan as a part of India revival strategy. Subsequently, the Gravite will be unveiled in January 2026 and launched in March 2026. The MPV will increase the scope of Nissan to other vehicles beyond the current SUVs.
Nissan Tekton SUV Launch in 2026
Tekton midsize SUV will be introduced in February 2026 prior to the introduction of the Gravite pricing. The car is based on the CMF-B platform which Renault Duster shares. It is anticipated to compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Honda Elevate. Additionally, the design of the SUV has a squared off body and V-motion grille. The Tekton will feature three-tone interior dashboard and contemporary interior.
Powertrain choices will be similar to Renault Duster that has petrol and hybrid engines. Higher variants are expected to have all-wheel-drive. It will be manufactured in the Renault-Nissan facility in Chennai naming Tekton. It will do both domestic and export sales. As per Nissan, the Tekton name comes because of the Greek word which translates into craftsman or architect.
All-New Seven-Seat SUV Set for 2027
Nissan India affirmed that it plans to release a 7-seat SUV in 2027. It will also be based on CMF-B platform, but will not be similar to the Tekton. Nissan India managing director Saurabh Vatsa stated that the SUV would be totally different to the midsize model. Nonetheless, the car model will be styled and specification specific. This SUV will have extra seating without the satisfaction of design identity and performance.
Expansion of Dealership Network and Workforce
Nissan plans to expand its dealership network alongside the product launches. Currently, the brand operates around 150 dealerships nationwide. This number will increase to 200 outlets by the Tekton launch and 250 by the seven-seat SUV launch. Nissan also plans to grow its sales and service staff from 800 to 3,000 employees. This expansion supports both sales growth and service availability across India.
With the updated Magnite, new Gravite MPV, Tekton SUV, and a seven-seat SUV, Nissan India is preparing for a focused market revival. Furthermore, the combination of fresh products, expanded dealerships, and increased workforce positions the brand for stronger operations by 2027.
