Volkswagen Tayron to Expand the Premium SUV Lineup
The Volkswagen Tayron will be introduced in India in the first half of 2026. It will be a three-row SUV that will be used to replace the previous Tiguan Allspace. The assembled model will be in the form of CKD kits that will be assembled locally in the Aurangabad facility. This strategy serves the competitive pricing in the high-end market.
Subsequently, the Tayron will have a 2.0 litre TSI petrol-powered all-wheel-drive. It is predicted to generate a power of 204 hp and a torque of 320 Nm. The transmission will be performed by a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. This SUV will be placed under Tiguan R Line in the local range.
In terms of design, the Tayron will follow the Tiguan R Line style closely. The body will be longer to support the third row seating. Interior features are expected to mirror other global Volkswagen SUVs. Safety and driver support systems will be part of the package.
Taigun Facelift to Bring Feature Updates
The Volkswagen Taigun facelift is set to be launched in the third quarter of 2026. The test vehicles have already been spotted on the Indian roads. Outside modifications will be in the form of cosmetic modifications as opposed to new panels. New alloy wheels and new trims will be anticipated.
The Taigun facelift will have no changes in terms of engine options. Buyers will still receive 1.0 litre and 1.5 litre TSI petrol engines. The automatic gearbox system, however, might be varied to the smaller engine. A torque converter of eight-speed is bound to become an alternative to the existing six.

Virtus Facelift to Refresh the Sedan Portfolio
The Volkswagen Virtus facelift is scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. Thus, it will mark the first major update since the sedan’s introduction. Nonetheless, design changes will include revised front and rear sections. New alloy wheel designs will also be offered.
The interior of the Virtus facelift will share components with the updated Taigun. This includes infotainment and safety equipment. Advanced driver assistance systems are expected to be available. Essentially, the focus will remain on comfort and safety.
