Hollywood star Keanu Reeves says it had been director-writer Lana Wachowski’s”beautiful script” for Matrix 4 that compelled him to return into the world of cyberpunk.
The actor, who will reprise his role as Neo in the upcoming fourth installment of the cult sci-fi franchise, said the new film has some”purposeful things” to convey, and he didn’t want to let go of the opportunity.
“Lana Wachowski wrote a gorgeous script and a superb story that resonated with me personally. That’s the only reason to do it. Working with her is simply wonderful. It’s been extraordinary, and the story has, I believe, a few meaningful things to say, and that we can take some nutrition from,” Reeves told Empire magazine.
According to reports, the movie is currently hoping to resume production in July, and Warner Bros Pictures had signed extensions to help keep the celebrity throw hold.
The movie was in production since February and proceeded out of San Francisco to Berlin mid-March for shooting, which never started on account of the coronavirus-headed shutdown.
Besides Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Jada Pinkett Smith will reprise their roles as Niobe and Trinity, respectively, at the phase.
Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Brian J Smith, Toby Onwumere, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are new additions to the show.
David Mitchell and Aleksandar Hemon possess co-written the script together with Wachowski.
Matrix 4 is scheduled for a 2021 release.
