When the big brands tease us with trailers, teasers, or even leak out images of their company vehicles. Benelli is gonna be the one we’ll take, right now.
Teased new Benelli 302R
Benelli, the unique Italian motorcycle manufacturer has set some grip in India too. But recently the company an upcoming new addition, in China. New Benelli 302R was teased with a ‘coming soon’ short message. In April, a picture also got leaked of the same. Though 2021 302R won’t get any visual changes. Other features like twin headlamp, bulky front fairing, USD front forks, twin front disc brakes, clip-on handlebars, and split seats appear to be carried forward from the old model are to be also retained.
2021 will have a revised 300 cc parallel-twin, 8-valve, liquid-cooled engine following the latest BS6 Norms in India. To get better and efficient the bike might come with a lighter body, as the old one had a 210 kg of curb weight.
The old Benelli 302R’s engine produces 38.26 PS of maximum power and 26.5 Nm of maximum torque. The new model will likely have some variations in these output numbers. Launched in 2017, the old Benelli 302 R was a successful hit because of a big appearance. It also had a superb exhaust note but lacks being the fastest or quickest. So fingers crossed for 2021.
Benelli BJ 1200 GT
The spied Benelli looks like a rough and tough, next-gen tourer. The same motorcycle has been spotted a couple of times. What was noticeable, was a giant front fairing, adjustable windscreen, top box, and panniers. The motorcycle is to be powered by a 1,209cc, liquid-cooled, inline-triple engine that produces 134hp. This is based on the 103cc, three-cylinder unit that powered the Benelli Trek.
We also got to know, that the motorcycle will weigh over 300 kg. The spy shots showcased the instrument panel. It has a large TFT display in the middle, flanked by an analog tachometer on one side and the speedometer on the other. The new Benelli will include keyless ignition, tire pressure monitoring, and electrically adjustable mirrors.
The Benelli BJ 1200 GT is expected to go on sale in China and European markets in 2021 and compete against likes of CF Moto CF1250.
