Tom Hardy and Steven Knight both have confirmed two seasons Taboo, of the critically acclaimed periodic thriller, has been planned. The show was renewed by BBC for the season back in 2017, but three decades later, it hasn’t come.
When the war with the United States concluded, the series deals with the dark side of Londen from the 19th century. The casual drama follows James Delaney (depicted by Tom Hardy), who returns England with stolen diamonds out of Africa but soon finds himself in political corruption, gangs, along with also the negative side of the city.
Steven Knight reported the next season would begin in early 2018, but the year arrived and passed, but there was no Taboo Season 2. The project was possibly delayed due to Hardy’s and Knight’s busy schedules. Hardy was busy filming for Venom, and Knight dedicated his time and brain. Aside from being the big brain in Peaky Blinders
, Knight also functioned for thriller, Serenity starring Mathew McConnaghay and Anne Hathaway. Besides, he created post-apocalyptic play series for Apple TV+, See, starring Jason Momoa.
In 2019, Knight gave another update concerning the season. He said that the script for the season is finished, but they could not begin feeling until 2020 that was early. As he filmed Venom, tom Hardy’s schedule was packed with 2019: Let There Be Fonzo and Carnage. Tom Hardy and his wife, Charlotte Rile, welcomed a babu in January 2019, thus extending the pre-production farther away.
RadioTimes noted that season two is currently on hiatus due to several reasons. Thanks to coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in the shut down of manufacturing, Taboo Season 2 and projects is still away. The best we could expect the season is in 2021 or early 2022, not more first than that.
