Recently the season 7 of one of the hottest crime thriller TV series, The blacklist premiered on the Netflix and NBC. This web series created by Jon Bokencamp for NBC known for its well-choreographed stunts and drama has a separate fan base. On the occasion of filming the 150th episode of the TV series, show creators broke the news to the crew that show is renewed for the Season 8. Show producers officially renewed the show for an eighth season on 20th February 2020.
The Blacklist season 1 was released back in September 2013, since then 152 episodes have been released so far. As is gearing up to produce the eighth season, fans have high expectations for the follow-up season.
The Blacklist Season 8, cast and plot details
Raymond “Red” Reddington, a former US Navy intelligence officers who is now a high profile criminal surrenders himself to the FBI. He makes an unusual proposal to the FBI that he will help the FBI in capturing the most wanted criminals. He tells Harold Cooper, assistant director of FBI that he has a list that contains the names of all the mysterious and unknown but dangerous top criminals of the world. He is willing to cooperate if his condition of immunity to the persecution is met and he mysteriously insists to work with a new recruit, Elizabeth Keen.
The series earned so many rave reviews for its drama and it also bagged nominations for awards like Primetime Emmy Award. Everyone praised the action sequences and great acting performances, particularly by James Spader. The show starred by James Spader(as Raymond Red) has actors like Megan Boone(as Elizabeth Keen), Diego Klattenhoff(Donald Ressler), Ryan Eggold(as Tom keen), Parminder Nagra(as Agent Meera Malik), Harry Lennix(as Harold Cooper). Many actors are expected to reprise their respective roles in the next season. However, the identity and casting for the next global criminal for the next season are not revealed yet.
The Blacklist Season 8 expected release date, and other major updates
On 20 February 2020, the announcement was made that The Blacklist Season 8 will be renewed for 2020-21.

said Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, co-presidents scripted programming at NBC. However, we don’t have any idea about the impact of the Pandemic on web series production. Earlier it was expected to be released in autumn, but it seems that release date would be pushed back to a later date. It seems we have to wait a little longer for the next season, it’s expected to be released in early 2021.
