Jurassic World 3 was put on indefinite hiatus together with a lot of other large-scale productions amid the continuing global situation. Still, with the announcement of filming commencing again quite soon, things are looking up for its sci-fi blockbuster. Director Colin Trevorrow has gone one step farther, stating that the pause in creation may have helped the film.
“For many of us, Dominion was the biggest creative challenge of our own lives, before the lockdown. The schedule really worked to our advantage – the first four weeks we set to movies were largely sequences with dinosaurs in them. So that allowed us to get a head start on VFX and workshop some of the more recent components without the pressure of a looming deadline.”
It sounds like Colin Trevorrow and his team have used the time well, getting a head start on the visual effects and also no doubt tweaking precisely what they’d achieved for the better. With strict health and safety guidelines now in place, Super Planet: Dominion can finally begin filming next month, although Trevorrow sounds confident about the regulations keeping everybody safe, he can have some concerns about getting the most creatively out of such a rigid atmosphere.
“I’m confident our instructions will keep us safe,” Trevorrow stated of the new protocols. “The challenging part will be building a creative environment within each of the precautions. We must forget our universe and live in a world of the movie After the cameras roll. That may take some practice.”
Despite these feelings of trepidation, however, Trevorrow is excited to return to the sphere of flesh-eating dinosaurs, as is the remainder of the crew and cast. “I’ve been moved by how everybody has revealed support for each other,” the filmmaker said. “We’re all fired up to get back to work. That is what we do, and we are all eager to get back out there and do it.”
Jurassic World: Dominion has not had to adjust release, and so is still set to hit theatres on June 11, 2021. While it had been rumoured that Jurassic World: Dominion would be the last entry in the show, producer Frank Marshall lately cleared things up with a definitive”no” while promoting his new gig Laurel Canyon recently. Marshall then provided a bit more detail, saying, “It’s the beginning of a new age… The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they’ll be for quite some time, I expect.”
The Fallen Kingdom ends with lots of the creatures being smuggled off the island for a black-market auction that, of course, ends horribly. With the dinosaurs today let loose on the Earth, the likes of Neill’s Alan Grant, Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm, and Laura Dern’s Dr Ellie Sattler are being attracted back into the fray to help stop the prehistoric beasts.
Much from the cameo that many had speculated, the original Jurassic World trio will have essential functions In Dominion, with Alan Grant actor Sam Neill saying recently that”We are all the way through the film, Jeff Goldblum, along with me personally, along with Laura [Dern]… They’re dear friends, and I’m thrilled to be back with them. And, more than that, we’ll be living in the same joint for four or three weeks. So that is going to be fun. And everybody loves Chris and Bryce as well, so I believe we will be a very delighted group.” This comes to us from Empire.
