Legacies Season 2: Release Date, Cast, Plot, Trailer And Know Everything !!!

There may still technically be four episodes scheduled to the second season of Legacies, however, as the show is still on a filming hiatus, for the time being, episode 16 functioned as the season finale. Thankfully, the episode delivered all the drama and twists of a conventional climax. Even series founder Julie Pec approved of this surprise final episode, telling a buff on Twitter, “It’s really a fun accidental season finale that has a good cliffhanger, so it’s going to be temporarily satisfying until we’re able to go back and complete the rest.”

Therefore, while this was not supposed to be the point where we return on the end of the second season of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals spinoff, now seems as good a time as any given that there is a long break before we get the last couple of episodes. If you already captured episode 16 and wish to be sure you got all of the details right, then read on as we dive into what went down to Legacies’ fleeting season 2 ending.

Hope gave Josie a Legacies lesson on believing in fairy tales

Pupils at Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted happen to be terrorized by an owned Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant) for some time, now. After she demanded the mixing ceremony together with her Josie (Jenny Boyd), be transferred up to their 17th birthday, it appeared like the corrupted adolescent might turn out to be far too strong for her good. Thankfully, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) had a plan to put an end to that. After the merging ceremony was finished, we learned that Hope travelled into Josie’s subconscious, which presented itself as a fairy tale land.

After there, Hope met a rude pig (literally), who later demonstrated himself to be… none other than Josie in disguise. It appears that, after Dark Josie took over control of this young woman, Josie’s consciousness found a way to hide from her evil forces. Josie explained each of the lessons she had internalized from hearing fairy tales when she was a youngster, including her fear that having strength would result in her being taken over by evil. Hope, then, told Josie there was no demand for her to continue to live by these obsolete rules, and that she could have her advantage without becoming corrupted by it.

Subsequently, Black Josie personified as an archetypal fairytale villainess, crashed the pep talk. With her newfound personal strength, Josie managed to conquer her shadowy ego and regain control of her body. After her ordeal, she imbued a coin with her siphon powers, until she feels ready to wield it properly.

Alaric made a deal with the Necromancer

Meanwhile, outside of Josie’s mind, things were in total disarray following Lizzie and Josie’s merging service. Lizzie played dead to remain under the radar. However, Hope attempted to deal with Dark Josie, while Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) was continuing to live with the guilt of not only becoming the puppet of the Necromancer (Ben Geurens) but also killing his brother, Landon (Aria Shahghasemi).

Itching to use Dark Josie’s powers without having to deal with Dark Josie, herself, the Necromancer was putting together a scheme of his own. He made a bargain with Alaric (Matthew Davis) and Lizzie: Lizzie would throw a spell shifting Dark Josie’s powers to the Necromancer and, in exchange, the Necromancer would bring back everybody who’d died under his view. This meant that Rafael would no longer be under the Necromancer’s control and that Landon would be resurrected.

With no much better plan, both agreed to combine forces with their ghoulish foe temporarily. Lizzie performed the charm, and the energy has been transferred, leading to a happy ending for everybody involved. I was kidding! In a move that surprised nobody, there was one critical twist on the Necromancer’s plan.

The shocking cliffhanger to Legacies’ finale

First, the fantastic news: Rafael, along with the other students that had died and been forced puppets of the Necromancer were brought back to life, in keeping with all the Necromancer’s deal. Now, the bad news: Even after the transport of Dark Josie’s energy was complete, Landon remained dead. And, that was not all. Even after helping Josie defeat her dark ego, Hope still had not regained consciousness.

So, how did all that happen? Regrettably for our personalities, Landon’s continued death might be a result of not reading the fine print on their bargain with the demon. Even though the unbreakable covenant spell the group made with the Necromancer meant that whatever conditions were agreed upon had to be followed, Rafael made a critical mistake during the negotiation stage. When he tried to include Landon in the resurrection deal, he asked the demon, “Would you bring Landon back, too?” The Necromancer said he could, which wasn’t a lie. He might have attracted Landon back to life; however, he decided not to do so and, due to Rafael’s wrong notion, Landon remained dead.

In terms of Hope, we’ll have to wait until the next episode to see why she’s yet to recover consciousness. It is likely that she is still trapped within Josie, or that, when Josie moved her powers to the coin, Hope became trapped there, too. While we’re dying to know what’s going to happen to the show’s protagonists, we do have to admit that Julie Pec was right: This did turn out to be a cliffhanger worthy of a finale.
