Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has confirmed a buff theory focused on Captain America and the super-soldier serum.
Season seven of this ABC show saw Freddy Malick awarded a vial of a mysterious substance that was green, and started a week.
It sparked theories from lovers that the material was used to create the super-soldier serum that gave Captain America his abilities, especially as Freddy will have links to HYDRA.
If that was the last we saw Oswalt’s character, his guest appearance would likely have long been forgotten, but Koenig returned to the season one finale if Fury sent Coulson coordinates to yet another secret base: the Playground, a former SSR center manned by an identical twin of Eric called Billy. Just Agent Antoine Triplett, played by B. J. Britt, guessed that the”twins” were more than just brothers, and when a third Koenig, Sam, was released in season two, Trip came straight out and asked how many brothers there were. Even though Sam and Billy both answered”thirteen,” they insisted they were only joking, and both the audience and Trip were always left wondering just how human the Koenigs were.
Although season four of Representatives of SHIELD promised to finally reveal the complete Koenig sibling lineup, adding a physically indistinguishable slam poet named Thurston and a sister called L. T., the final confirmation that the quadruplets were entirely human felt untrue. Trip’s suspicions were always with us, and an offhanded remark in year two — another joke, we are told — that one of those brothers was”recharging his batteries” had us considering the”life model decoys” of the Marvel comics long before we faced the season four storyline centering on Aida, allegedly the first LMD of this series.
And today in the last year, Representatives of SHIELD has given us Ernest Koenig, presumably a progenitor of the quadruplets who has been subjected to the technologies of the future so that he can help out with the assignment at hand. Is it that the presence of SHIELD previously is what pushes the shady personality to alter”swordfish” out of a speakeasy password into the access code for the type of secret foundation that his descendants will become known for? It is the kind of causality loop that can melt audiences’ brains!
Enoch the Chronicon being left behind once the team time jumped in the conclusion of”Know Your Onions” can’t be a coincidence either, can it? Koenig was obviously fascinated by the sentient robot and wanted to understand everything he could about SHIELD his brand new bartender, so despite the near future Koenigs insistence that they weren’t exactly the artificial constructs Trip thought they had been, what should Chronicom technologies — the exact same sophisticated design that makes the new Coulson so real — is supporting the Koenig clones?
Agents of SHIELD might choose to let the enigmatic epilogue talk for itself the way it has with many other Koenig-centric storylines, or we may get further clarification in future episodes. Maybe an Ernest Koenig revealed in another decade of the twentieth century will show since 1931 was left by the group that he has obtained a better knowledge of intelligence, or perhaps the Koenig family’s growth is going to be left to our imagination. In any event, the mystery of why so Koenigs look exactly the exact same is an enduring part of the series’ mythology and will be among the overall highlights of the show not or whether fans get answers.
