Aladdin is a 2019 American musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie and produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich. The film was released on May 24th 2019 and the running time of the film is 128 minutes. The film Aladdin got a rating of 57% from Rotten Tomatoes and 7/10 from IMDb. The film is available on Google Play Movies and TV, YouTube and Disney + Hotstar. The film got moderate reviews from the audiences. Disney is moving forward with enlighten to a sequel to last year’s live-action remake and has hired a pair of writers to pen a script.
The cast members from Aladdin’s first movie will be returning for its sequel. The cast includes Will Smith as Blue Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, and Numan Acar as Hakim and Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders. Amir Boutrous as Jamal, Nina Wadia as Zulla, and Navid Negahban as the Sultan will also be returning for the live-action sequel. Well it is not for sure that the whole cast from the first movie will return for the sequel.
After Aladdin was very successful in cinemas around the world, last year it’s no wonder that a sequel would not be long and coming as variety no reports that Aladdin 2 will be released but will not consider the fan requests for a remake of Jafar’s return. It is said that office John Gatins and Andrea Belief have been working on the sequel for the past 6 months but the plot will have nothing to do with Jafar’s return from 1994. It is believed that the second part will be more about Jasmine and Genie.
Disney always takes a long road for the release of its live-action remakes sequel. Aladdin 2 perhaps won’t be seen for another 3 – 4 years. The expected release year of the film is around 2024 0r 2025. The production of the movie started early in October 2016 announced by Disney. The screenplay was already done by that time. Ritchie was hired as the director of the film.
