Alita Battle Angel 2 Release Date, Cast, Plot And News

Alita Battle Angel produced by the legendary filmmaker James Cameron, released on. Fans were excited for this live adaptation of Japanese manga written by Yukito Kishiro. Live adaptations of Manga have got a terrible reputation, but this movie was well received by the viewers. It earned a respectable score of on rotten tomatoes. But it didn’t perform really well on the box office and it grossed little over $400 million. Therefore it ended up as a failure at the box office despite its positive feedbacks, and it didn’t justify the big-budget of 170 million dollars.

It was a very long wait, and the film was initially commissioned in 2003. Finally, in 2016, Robert Rodriguez was given the charge of the project, and he went on to direct the movie. When the movie was finally released fans were divided on the movie everyone praised the performances by the cast and the action sequences straight out of the manga, few were critical of the screenplay.

James Cameron wanted to produce more sequels. But when the movie failed to break even the future of the sequel became uncertain. But it would be disappointing to leave such an ambitious project on a cliffhanger. Fans started a petition on change.org which got 100k+ signatures. This shows how much fans were excited about the sequel. This project was so close to James Cameron, he said in an interview.

“It’s Alita, colon, Battle Angel. Because the next one will be ‘Alita: Fallen Angel’ and then Alita… you know “Avenging Angel” and then Alita whatever. I mean, that’s assuming we make some money,” James Cameron.

The cast for Alita: Battle Angel 2 includes Rosa Salazar as Alita, Jennifer Connelly as Dr Chiren, Ed Skrein as Zapan, Keean Johnson as Hugo, Christoph Waltz as Dr Dyson Ido, Jackie Earle Haley as Grewishka and Mahershala Ali as Vector. Most of them are expected to reprise their roles, and we can anticipate that more characters will be introduced.

Recent developments like the Snyder cut and successful release of Alita Fallen Angel over 4K BluRay are in favour of the sequel. There is a lot of buzz on the internet hopefully this will justify the reissue of Avenging Angel. Although chances of getting a sequel are high but no announcement has been made so far.
