    Ather Energy see demand from 2,000 prospective retailers to kick off operations in 4 more cities

    The company confirmed the introduction of 450X in the following markets in January. Based on the demand earned for the scooter— Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. Ather has received thousands of pre-orders from around the world since the national launch. With key cities such as Ahmedabad, Kochi, Coimbatore, and Kolkata taking the lead.

    Ather Energy says the four new cities will see the construction of fast charging systems in the months ahead. Followed by scooter distribution. For a fully refundable Rs 2,500, the Ather 450X is available for pre-order via the client web site. Ather has also received orders from these cities for dealerships which will make it easier for the business to expand rapidly.

    The electric vehicle producer says the Ather Forum has been abuzz with proposals for community engagement projects for the company to start in cities beyond the metro stations. In the coming months, the organization will plan test drives and meetups in the new cities.

    Tarun Mehta, CEO, and co-founder, Ather Energy said:

    The Ather 450X has received a fantastic response across the world. We got pre-orders not only from the major metro stations but also from numerous Tier II and III towns. Likewise, retail alliances have received more than 2,000 requests.

    The range also went up:

    In Ride mode, the scooter now has a claimed range of 70 km (up from 65 km). Whereas, the range in Eco mode has expanded by 10 km, to 85 km. It takes more time to charge the bigger lithium-ion battery on the 450X, it now takes 3hr 35min to get to 80 percent and 5hr 45min to get to a 100 percent from empty.

    Certain changes include an improved instrument console. A 1.3Ghz Snapdragon processor now drives the unit. The Ubuntu operating system has moved to Free Android. Nevertheless, like the older model, the Ather 450X keeps on featuring a 7.0-inch screen.
