Bentley introduced the world to its Bentayga and started the production of this luxurious SUV. The British automakers have never stopped from that point and have successfully placed 20,000 Bentaygas in the warmth of their owners.
Just like the likes of its rivals like Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin, Bentley also followed the crossover and SUV trend. And Bentayga was its MVP. Buyers have the choice between the Bentayga, Bentayga V8, Bentayga V8 Design Series, Bentayga Speed, Bentayga Diesel, and Bentayga Hybrid, as to ensure there’s something for every type of buyer.
The Bentayga was powered by twin-turbocharged W12. The engine produced a total of 599 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. This powered the Bentayga to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4 seconds on a good day and topped to 187 mph. We can’t forget Bentayga Speed, which was claimed as the world’s fastest SUV, also used the same engine. The Speed had 623 hp and would rush up to speed 190 mph.
In 2018, Bentayga 2018 hitter the market and had a downsized engine. A twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter eight-cylinder engine. It makes 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque, and with the foot to the ground, it can do the 0-60-mph scoot in 4.4 seconds. The top speed is capped at 180 mph. Bentley Bentayga V8 Design series was a segment for those who wanted a more specialized look.
The company also had a diesel engine and a hybrid model in the lineup. The diesel one is a triple-charged 4.0-liter V8 that produces 429 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. While the hybrid marked the entry of Bentley in the electrification showdown. It combines a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, an electric motor, and a V6 engine. Together, the system makes a claimed 443 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque.
