BMW Concept i4 Looking Nearly Ready for Production

Think of it as a 523 horsepower, electric 4 Series Gran Coupe.

The rumors were true-next month at the Geneva Motor Show, BMW is bringing a conceptual variant of the i4. Much better, it does not seem like this is going to be a concept car. So, the traditional sense of the word as it seems to appear really similar to what you would expect from a production model.

It’s going to be more along the lines of the M8 Gran Coupe model than the crazy Vision Next 100 from a few years ago.

The new i4 concept will be a follow-up to the I Vision Dynamics project introduced back in September 2017. So, it will grow to become what can best describe as a full-electric Gran Coupe 4 Series.

The press release that comes with the new teaser images and video has only two paragraphs. But this is because BMW has already revealed quite a lot of details about the ready-to-produce i4.

Specifications:

It will offer a meaty 523 horsepower by road-going BMW i4. Due to launch in 2021. Prompting the Bavarians to say that their electric four-door “coupe” will have power levels similar to a car fitted with a V8 engine.

Range anxiety isn’t going to be much of a problem as it can cover distances comparable to a vehicle powered by a combustion engine.

Thanks to a battery pack with a capacity of around 80 kWh. The i4 will travel between charges for about 373 miles (600 kilometers). Although the test cycle on which this number is based by BMW remains a mystery at this point.

Instead of the old and optimistic NEDC, we hope it’s the more realistic WLTP.

Set to be built at home in Munich. The BMW i4 will have enough electric punch in about four seconds for a 0 to 62 mph (100 km / h). Will top out at over 124 mph (200 km / h).
