BMW, on several fronts, is feeling the force of this Coronavirus outbreak like many other auto manufacturers. Sales have dropped by around 40 percent in markets and that is proving to be a scenario nobody. The Bavarians have taken steps to try to keep things under control as far as you can.
The statement came on Thursday Oliver Zipse, himself, throughout the BMW Annual General in the CEO. According to the company, BMW is producing its face masks, which will be required for its workers as plants across the globe have started to innovate and resume operations.
In this manner, BMW expects to have sufficient stock to supply all its workers with the resources they should operate without becoming infected: “With tens of thousands of workers each plant needing many masks each day, that quickly adds up to a huge number. That’s the reason we are currently generating masks. […] using 200,000 face masks every day, we’ll mostly have the ability to satisfy our personal needs,” explained Zipse through the assembly.
BMW is beginning to resume operations at a slow pace since demand is still low, at programs around the planet. The production began restarting April, using the motor plants while that the Dingolfing plant started ramping up operations.
Week plants out of Regensburg, Munich, and Leipzig in Addition to Rosslyn Oxford and San Luis Potosi will follow suit. According to the BMW CEO, the plants will restart with 1 change; after there’s a clear growth in demand 2 changes make sense.
