The company BMW Motorrad India is all ready to launch the BMW F 900 R and the BMW F 900 XR tomorrow, 21st of May. These bikes got their first introduction with the public at 2019 EICMA in Milan. And as we knew since the beginning, it is going to make debut in India in Mid 2020. We also expect the bookings to be open soon after the launch programs. Though there may still be some delay in the deliveries due to the current corona crisis, we shall hear more of this timeline after the launching I guess.
Talking of the models, The F 900 R is the company’s new street naked motorcycle. While their F 900 XR is an adventure sports bike, talking of their specifications, both bikes share the same chassis and engine. Their differences occur in their style, riding position, and suspension travel. Coming to their powertrain, they are powered by the new 895 ccs, inline twin engine. This is based on the 2018 BMW F 850 GS motor. Though, here we have a larger bore and a higher compression ratio. The engine pulls off 105hp at 8,750rpm and 92Nm of torque at 6,500rpm, with as much as 87Nm available from 4,500rpm onwards.
It is also equipped with great tech, two driving modes. If you go for a premium, you may get better suspensions and ABS. Prices may be between Rs. 9.7 lacs and above. This gives serious competition to KTM Duke 790, Ducati Monster 82, and Triumph Street Triple R.
