The Bosch Help Connect will be a smartphone-based call solution. The system will automatically send out an SOS, incase of an accident. Bosch says the system can help cut the response time of emergency services by as much as half.
The system features an “intelligent crash algorithm”. It is attached to the motorcycle’s Inertial sensor unit. The system, along with the Bosch Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC), measures acceleration and angular velocity one hundred times a second. The system is built to detect sudden changes in angular position and speed. It will help in acknowledging that the motorcycle has been in an accident and send out emergency call via Bosch Vivatar smartphone app.
The app sends the exact GPS location of the driver and the accident spot to the Bosch service center which sends out an emergency unit. Riders can also feed details about their medical history or emergency contact person’s information on the app. Access to an injured rider’s position and medical records holds the potential to save critical time in an emergency response.
The system can distinguish between a real accident, and a bike accident felling over while parked. The best part is, it doesn’t require a separate system. It can get attached to the motorcycle’s inertial sensors easily. The system connects to the Bosch app via Bluetooth.
