BT Sports go back to Hayden’s Title win

This Sunday, we saw BT Sports take a final walk to its memory lane. It was to their finale of their Greatest Years Series. They were in a great mood. All the team fondly remembered the great Nicky Hayden and his incredible triumph at the 2006 MotoGP World Championship. It was a great rollercoaster season in the history of MotoGP. The time when Nicky Hayden went on to grab his one and only World title win in the final round in Valencia after Valentino Rossi crashed out in early moments.

There were many moments which the members did recall. Gavin Emmett, Neil Hodgson, and Suzi Perry did some research on the key incidents. One was the Colin Edwards’ crash on the final lap at Assen. It was going to be hs debut Grand Prix victory.   Another was the collision of Dani Pedrosa’s with Hayden at a penultimate round in Estoril. It was the moment when it seemed that his teammate had robbed him of his first World Championship.

The trio was added with Pete Benson, who is now KTM Test crew Chief. He was then Hayden’s crew chief back in 2006. It was a nostalgic moment.

We can still feel the unexpected moments built then and is now a fabulous page of history with Hayden’s name written on it. We shall keep you posted with the latest news, so remain on us.
