The good news is that the Northern Irish comedy show Derry Girls is renewed for Season 3. Derry Girls lovers have been conserving their patience for Derry Girls Season 3, which was commissioned for 2020. But it was postponed in the wake of this coronavirus pandemic. Derry Girls Season 2 was shown in March and April 2019.
Saoirse-Monica Jackson plays the part of Erin Quinn at the Derry Girls series told Metro last year October that the filming has been pushed back several times and”It is important for us to shoot it at home [in Ireland].”
We’ve been pushed [filming] now a couple of times, and I believe we will push,” explained Monica Jackson. It’s really important for us that people keep the credibility of the show and that we don’t deliver any series that is in any way a restricted version,” she added.
It is also noted that Derry Girls Season 3 is very likely to be the greatest and final season of the show since the girls are growing up and they’ll be passed from a Catholic college. Fans shouldn’t be disheartened, the sitcoms founder and author Lisa McGee say she’s an idea to onscreen the Derry Girls movies.
“For a while, I didn’t know whether it would work but a concept is starting to vaguely form in my head, so after series three I’ll think about that a bit more,” said Lisa McGee. “I would love to get it done and I think that the cast would also so that would be the long-term strategy,” she opined.
Derry Girls is based in Northern Ireland and follows 4 teen girls in high school getting around all kinds of naughtiness. As per Generation Intelligence, a website that monitors news and updates on productions, Derry Girls Season 3 is under Pre-production. The series may start its filming in late 2021.
