The Show, Derry Girls, Made by producer and screenwriter Lisa McGee (nominated for the BAFTA for Being Human as Well as the Golden Globe for The White Queen), debuted in 2018 on British Channel 4 Too, and Netflix added it into its Catalogue at the end of the season.
The story occurs, as its title suggests, the birthplace of its founder, in Derry, Northern Ireland. But more significant is the fact that it’s set from the 90s.

Storyline
