God of War 5 is going to happen, it is only a matter of waiting until it’s officially announced. Sony Santa Monica’s God of War video game franchise is one of the PlayStation’s biggest first-party franchises, something which began back on the PlayStation 2 in 2005 – and it has continued in some form ever since.
The most recent God of War installment stepped away from Greek mythology and put the attention on Norse mythology. And considering how badly and commercially effective 2018’s God of War has been, which has since become a representation for its perseverance of single-player games, yet another sequel is all but confirmed. While nothing official has been shown, there’s a lot that can be deduced from what was revealed regarding the future of the God of War franchise up to now.
God Of War 5 Release Date
Sony Santa Monica hasn’t disclosed God of War 5’s release date yet or even when to anticipate the new title. But, series manager Cory Barlog lately said that another installment will not take the next 5 years to develop such as 2018’s God of War did. That means audiences should expect to visit God of War 5 hit shop shelves no more than 2022 – but, hopefully, a little bit sooner.
God Of War 5’S Story Will Continue Norse Mythology
God of War 5 will continue the story left off by the last God of War game and research Norse mythology in greater detail, just as how the first God of War trilogy did with Greek mythology. Soon before the newest God of War game launched in April 2018, Sony Santa Monica senior online community strategist Aaron Kaufman verified that additional installments in the franchise will follow Norse mythology and that gamers should not have played the first games to play or understand the sequels because the story has, somehow, been resumed.
While the programmer may not launch another seven matches in the series – with all of them focusing on Norse mythology – God of War’s ending did set up a new trilogy. Based on the events of this new title, it looks like Freya is going to be the main antagonist at God of War 5, with the general story arc adapting the events of Ragnarok – a prophesied depiction of a collection of events which will bring about the end of things along with the deaths of the majority of the Norse gods, including Odin, Thor, and Loki. In the sequel, however it seems Loki and Kratos will need to take on Freya, Odin, and Thor. This will, of course, carry over to God of War 6 as the end of this Norse storyline.
God Of War 5 Will Have Bigger Fights
God of War 4 was not just an open-world match in the conventional sense, but it was open, something that differed from previous installments. Considering everything that went to the new game, it makes sense that God of War 5 not just would continue down the path but also be somewhat larger in scale. That is usually the case with sequels. By environmental artist Nate Stephens, a possible God of War 5 would likewise have larger fights.
Nearly two weeks of 2018’s God of War game published, Stephens revealed that when Kratos was to match with Odin or Thor, it would need to become bigger and better than what they did with this new setup. The story itself would be longer. Since God of War 4 was an astounding vital achievement, God of War 5 allegedly being bigger, better, and longer is everything fans could hope for.
God Of War Director Has 5 Sequels Planned
God of War 4 took the franchise into a new direction, literally branching off from Greek mythology for the very first time. Loads are Owing to that. And shortly after the 2018 installment hit shop shelves, Sony Santa Monica’s creative manager Cory Barlog revealed that he has five games planned in his head (via Kotaku). Whether or not all those installations continue the Norse subject, or even wind up occurring remains to be seen, however, it’s safe to say that one or 2 will go. The question is, when?
Present-day reports indicate that Sony will release the PlayStation 5 by 2021. It is uncertain what the video game console that is rumored will include, but it will undoubtedly be more powerful than what is already out now. Plus, given that 2021 is just 3 decades off, God of War 5 will more than likely release on the PlayStation 5, though it’s also possible that it may be among the last important first-party games to release on the PlayStation 4 also.
However, growing God of War 5 for the PlayStation 5 isn’t something that Barlog is looking forward to, in case a sequel occurs. As a programmer, He, it’s tedious and time-consuming to overhaul a match engine to get a stage, even if that platform comes from within the business. And, because Barlog said the next game will not take another half-decade to develop, it makes sense that God of War 5 may have a release schedule similar to the original God of War match in addition to Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.
