Everything You Want To Know About Star Wars Adventure

With the relatively recent resurgence of the Star Wars film franchise, the property was firmly planted, yet again, in the public consciousness possibly unlike any other season in its historical 40-year history. The success of both The Force Awakens as well as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story illustrates just how well embraced and regarded that the franchise is and can be, even by the most casual of filmgoing audiences.

However, because hardcore Star Wars lovers can attest, the lore of the world dives much deeper compared to the film franchise could ever hope to. Thus, for people who wish to receive background knowledge of recognizable characters, find new and exciting storylines, or just experience more adventures from within the Star Wars world, related reading material such as novels and comics have been produced to meet your voracious requirements. And one comic publication, particularly, has devoted themselves to creating the next generation Star Wars readers.

As a part of this live stream of”The Star Wars Show” out of Star Wars Celebration in Orlando the Editor-in-Chief in IDW publishing, Chris Ryall, discussed a brand-new comic series which will be specifically directed at younger readers entitled: Star Wars Adventures. Ryall had this to say when asked how the comics of IDW could differentiate themselves out of the current conduct of Marvel:

We love what Marvel’s been doing. I’m so into those comics, but I have an eleven-year-old daughter. I would love to be able to go and buy a comic for her. Now she’ll have the ability to see Star Wars too and enjoy it. So these are currently gonna be high octane, higher energy experience stories. Not real steeped in the continuity. So it is for people that are new to Star Wars, brand new to comic books. Our goal is basically to develop the next generation of Star Wars readers who then gravitate to the Marvel comics in the future.

For the Editor-in-Chief at IDW, the attention of Star Wars Adventures isn’t to produce lore-centric adventures from within the world, but instead cultivate a brand new audience of comic book readers, especially Star Wars comic readers. By Ryall, earlier topics will be designed to get readers comfortable and invested with a few of the franchises’ faces, allowing IDW and lesser characters, later on, to play around. All these”backup stories” will be hosted by Maz Kanata, who Ryall warns, isn’t always the most reliable of narrators, at least not when it comes to supplying canonical tales.

Star Wars Adventures will headline a whole line of kid-friendly star Wars comics when it debuts this September.
