Aprilia revealed the SXR 125 and SXR 160 luxurious scooters at this year’s Auto Expo, which was held last month. Both are aimed at creating a new category of ‘ Crossmax Design ‘ trendsetter on the Indian market. They have drawn quite a crowd, thanks to their big-bike inspired design.
At Auto Expo 2020, Aprilia announced that the latest SXR 125 and SXR 160 will release in India sometime in Q3 this year. That their bookings will commence in August. While that still has time to happen the business has already started to prepare for it.
Aprilia has not released an official list of the locations where they will operate such new dealerships. But they’re sure to help the brand broaden its network in the country.
A 125 cc single-cylinder, 3-valve fuel-injected engine will power the Aprilia SXR 125. While its bigger sister. The SXR 160, derives its power from a 160 cc single-cylinder, 3-valve fuel-injected engine. Of which both will meet with the BS-VI emission standards. Aprilia has not yet released statistics on power and torque.
The Aprilia SXR 125 and SXR 160 are to assembled at the company’s Baramati factory. The former will contend with Suzuki Burgman Street when launched, whereas the latter has no direct rival yet. Although Suzuki has recently been working on a 150 cc Burgman Street.
At Auto Expo 2020, Aprilia confirmed it will launch the new SXR 125 and SXR 160 in India this year sometime in Q3.
At Auto Expo, 2018 Aprilia showcased the RS 150 and Tuono 150. Bike fans were then excited hoping that in the 150 cc market, India will soon be getting more luxury bikes. Yet, even today, there is no specific information on the country’s availability of any of these versions.
