Extracurricular Season 2 Expected Release Date, And Plot And Cast Details We Know So Far

Last year on April 22, Netflix announced that it will produce a Korean Drama web series, Extracurriculars. The first season was premiered on April 29 and it was very successful. It earned so many rave reviews from critics and viewers. It was praised for depicting the struggle of teens in a very honest and clear way. It gained a separate fan base among the viewers and now fans are eagerly waiting for the next season.

The web series follows the story of a teenage boy who is involved in some illegal activities. Ji Soo was abandoned by his parents at a very early age, who is living a silent life for the others. But he actually works under a shady name ‘Uncle’, with the help of the provides safety for an illegal prostitution business. Min hee a classmate of his also work in the same prostitution business. He has a crush on of his classmate, Gyu Ri. She becomes suspicious of Ji Soo and eventually, Gyu Ri discovers his real identity. Then she resorts to blackmail him, by gaining access to his business phone that she stole from him.

The first season of the show had 10 episodes with an average duration of 45 minutes, and it was praised for its witty humour and edgy plot with lots of drama and twists. The show ended on a kind of cliff-hanger with Mr Lee dead. First season 3 ended with the Detective conducting her futile investigation. Fans are eager to know the fate of the Min-Hee and what happened to the pair Ji Soo and Gyu Ri after they got separated.

Performance of the cast was applauded by the critics and viewers alike. The cast of the show included actors like Kim Dong-hee as Oh Ji-soo, Jung Da-bin as Seo Min-hee, Park Joo-Hyun as Bae Gyu-Ri, Nam Yoon-soo as Kwak Ki-tae, Choi Min-soo as Lee Whang-Chul, Park Hyuk-Kwon as Cho Jin-woo, Kim Yeo-jin as Lee Hae-young in the lead. Most of them are expected to return and reprise their roles in the next season.

There is no official announcement from Netflix. Korean Dramas are very popular among the millennials and it seems Netflix is adding more of them to its catalogue. So Netflix may renew it for the Season 2. Shooting for the first season was completed in a few months. If Netflix would make the announcement later this year, in that case, we can expect it to arrive in the summer of 2020.
