God of War 5 is going to happen; it’s just a matter of waiting until it is officially announced. Sony Santa Monica’s God of War video game franchise is only one of the PlayStation’s biggest first-party franchises, something which started back to the PlayStation 2 in 2005 – and it has continued in some form ever since.
The latest God of War installment stepped away from Greek mythology and placed the attention on Norse mythology. And considering how critically and commercially effective 2018’s God of War was, that has since become a representation for the perseverance of single-player matches, yet another sequel is all but confirmed. While nothing official has been shown, there is a lot that may be deduced from what has been revealed about the future of the God of War franchise thus far.
The entrance in the God of War shows not been declared Santa Monic or Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed release dates. A teaser announcing a game isn’t from the domain of chance.
The most God of War Release required to rise. Game supervisor Cory Barlog advised Kotaku that a vast majority of the time was committed like a game engine along with mechanics to logistics. To get a follow-up, all Santa Monica will have to do is the engine into the PS5 and create a story.
God of War 4 took the franchise into a new direction, literally branching off from Greek mythology for the first time. There are plenty of stories left to tell, Owing to that. And soon after the 2018 installation hit shop shelves, Sony Santa Monica creative manager Cory Barlog revealed that he currently has five games planned in his head (via Kotaku). Whether all those installments remain to be seen, continue the Norse theme, or wind up happening at all; however, it’s safe to state that at least one or 2 will go. The question is, when?
Recent reports suggest that Sony will release the PlayStation 5 by 2021. It is uncertain what the video game console will include, but it is undoubtedly stronger than what is today. Plus, given that 2021 is only three years away, God of War 5 will more than probably release on the PlayStation 5, even though it’s also possible that it may be one of the last major first-party games to release on the PlayStation 4 too.
However, developing God of War 5 for your PlayStation 5 isn’t something Barlog is waiting for if a movie occurs. As a programmer, to him, it is tedious and time-consuming to overhaul a game engine to get a new stage, even if this platform comes from within the same business. Because Barlog said the next game would not take another half-decade to grow, it stands to reason the God of War 5 might have a launch schedule like the original God of War match and Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.
Since God of War 5 hasn’t been formally announced or confirmed to be in development, there is not a trailer just yet -, and they’re probably won’t be a trailer for another couple of years.
