Warning: Godzilla vs. Kong SPOILERS Follow!
As a result of the Godzilla vs. Kong prequel graphic novel, we are now able to confirm that Dr. Houston Brooks is another character that will be making an appearance in the story. Dr. Brooks was depicted by Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) at Kong: Skull Island. The Seismologist was about the team that initially traveled expecting to map the paths into the world Brooks theorized exists near the core of the Earth. After surviving the experience with the horrific beasts of the island and Kong, Brooks joined up with Monarch, to help track the Titan phenomenon.
T2: Judgement Day actor Joe Morton took on the role of an older Brooks, for the Mothra hatching chain of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but was Only a little player. However, additional materials from the franchise – namely the Skull Island: The Annals of Kong and Godzilla: Aftershock graphic novels – revealed that a subplot about how Dr. Brooks son led an expedition back to Skull Island, only to become stranded one of its indigenous inhabitants after his team is wiped out by the Skullcrawler lizards and other beasts. That sets the stage for Godzilla vs Kong to potentially feature a subplot with Dr. Brooks reuniting with his son, Aaron, who also happens to be a foremost expert on King Kong and the unexpected evolution of Skull Island.
The newest synopsis for Godzilla vs. Kong certainly hints that is the way things Will play out – because you can read below:
“In a new world where man and monster today coexist, Monarch has to lead the way into a prosperous future alongside the Titans, keeping humanity in check. But factions that want to manipulate the Titans start to grow under the guise of a conspiracy, threatening to wipe out all life on Earth. Meanwhile, on Skull Island, strange seismic action draws the attention of Godzilla and Kong alike.”
Godzilla vs. Kong remains set to hit theatres on November 20th. It is rated PG-13.
