The new tires of Pirelli received a Mostly negative reaction from drivers And teams, when they were debuted, continue with this season’s specification and during the United States Grand Prix weekend, causing a proposal to scrap the 2020 version.

Such a transfer would require more or even the approval of seven teams The 2020 compounds’ performance in the Abu Dhabi test of this week is very likely to prove key to the choice.

Pirelli said it expected the 2 days to provide a”more Representative” image, thanks also to the lower prescribed tire pressures.

However, Grosjean, the sole 2019 talking to media after the Opening day of running, suggested his opinion”stayed in the same line” since it was at Austin.

Asked which specification a year ago, he would prefer to race, he explained: “I don’t know. It is too premature to remain. But it should be a question, should it?

“That’s where we’re. I don’t know if you ask me right now. Based on the track I would tell you or another. [But] that isn’t going to take place.

“After one year of development, you would love to be saying,’I am going to race 2020, no question’.”

Grosjean said Haas conducted a range of ’20 variations of various substances and comparisons between 2019.

“They [the 2020 tires] are distinct,” Grosjean said. “There are a few positives and there are some drawbacks.

“They did a big change. We Will Need to look at how we’ve been running the Automobiles and make sure we are on the very best of everything, but if you ask me if I am quite happy about the brand new tires, and [if] this is going to fix a few of the issues – that the thermal degradation, sensitive to following a second car – I just need to tell the truth.

“And no, it’s not likely to change this issue fully.

“The degradation of certain chemicals was better. Being able to run lower pressures helps you. So these are the advantages.
