The third installment of this popular series was anticipated to be released in 2020 as a part of Marvel’s Stage 4. However, some significant problems, such as the sacking of director James Gunn resulted in significant delays. Gunn was reinstated in his position as the director since then.
James Gunn was fired from the job because of his contentious tweets out of his previous and has been let go by Disney as a result. This occurred in July 2018. However, on 15 March 2019, he was reinstated as the manager by persuasive Alan Horn.
The Stage 4 announcement at comic-con confirmed that the Stage 4 movies are set to release during and after 2021. 3 wasn’t a part of that lineup; we have to presume that it will be released in 2022.
There are just two Marvel films set to be released in February and July 2022. Guardians of the Galaxy might be published in both of the 2 months. July would be likely as the previous movies are printed in July and May, respectively.
Gunn is currently working on The Suicide Squad in the DC universe. The film is expected on August 6, 2021, therefore he’ll likely begin working on the Marvel movie until 2021, at least. The Hollywood Reporter cites, however, the filming will begin in 2020.
Following the events of the Infinity War, it looked like only Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and Nebula (Karen Gillian) would be in another film. However, Endgame brought everything back on track.
Gamora (Zoe Saldana) is alive, so we can expect her to reprise her role also. Sean Gunn is going to be back as Kraglin and Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha.
This film will probably be an epic ending to the Guardians of the Galaxy, according to James Gunn. Also, he mentioned that the film would occur four years following the events of Guardians two, including Infinity War and Endgame.
