Hero pulls the first-gen plug on Pleasure scooter

After nearly 14 years, the first scooter of the brand-launched in 2006-may discontinued.

The first-generation Hero Pleasure:

Which made its debut as Hero Honda Pleasure back in 2006, deleted from the website of the brand. So, it looks as if the scooter discontinued after nearly 14 years of service.

But Hero has already filled the gap with an all-new edition, named the Pleasure Plus, unveiled last year.

The older Pleasure was one of their segment’s largest power scooters when it made its debut. It took on other lightweight scooters in the mid-2000s including the TVS Scooty Pep, Kinetic Zing, and Bajaj Spirit, all of which sat below the 80cc mark somewhere while the Pleasure had a 102cc model. Yet since then, a lot has changed and 100cc really isn’t cutting it anymore.

That’s why the Pleasure Plus gets the 110.9cc engine used in the Duet and Maestro Edge model, which allows 8.1hp and 8.7Nm torque. The first-gen model’s 102cc dated powerplant not required to become compatible with BS6.

The scooter branded as one which catered to women when the Hero Pleasure introduced. The latest scooter version, with its curvy retro style and low seat height, tends to adopt a similar strategy.

That gives us more reason to think the older Pleasure discontinued how the current Plus priced equally. The Pleasure Plus in BS4-spec costs only Rs 2,000 more than the older Pleasure.

BS6 Pleasure Hero Plus 110 FI started at Rs 54,800.

The hero has just launched the first BS6-compliant scooter in the form of the revised Enjoyment Plus, which is priced at Rs 54,800 for the steel wheel version and Rs 56,800 for the alloy wheel model; this is an increase of Rs 6,300 from their respective BS4 edition. All rates, Delhi. Ex-showroom.

Although the new Pleasure Plus uses the same 110cc engine, it now provides fuel injection and a revamped exhaust system making it compatible with BS6. Interestingly, though peak power and torque estimates remain the same as 8.1hp and 8.7Nm, the former is now in the rev range at 7,000rpm in 500rpm earlier. The hero has also stated that the current Pleasure Plus is more fuel-efficient than the Pleasure Plus BS4. And accelerates quicker by 10 percent.
